Bonsai Notebook The last meeting of the calendar year will be very special.  Our guest demonstrator Nov. 8 will be Mauro Stemberger.  Born in 1978 in Feltre, Italy, Mauro now works as an architect and a bonsai artist.

Bonsai Notebook We are nearing the end of another year, so join us at the October meeting where the program will feature our own Peter Macasieb.  We are very fortunate to have him as a member and officer in our club.

Bonsai Notebook Our September meeting will feature Cesareo Perez.  Cesareo is another of our local bonsai artists who make the Southern California area so rich with talent.

Bonsai Notebook The August meeting will feature one of our local favorites, Ted Matson.  Ted got started in bonsai in the 1970’s in the S.F. Bay area and moved to Southern California in 1980.  He joined several clubs and started a serious pursuit of the bonsai art.

Bonsai Notebook The July meeting will feature Frank Goya and his famous talent for designing saikai, or living landscapes.  Frank is known as one of the top bonsai artists in our country and as the “dean” of saikai. Bonsai Notebook NO MEETING IN JUNE Our regular meeting on June 14 has been cancelled so that our members can support and attend the Descanso Bonsai Society annual show and reception on that date. 

Bonsai Notebook Our May program will provide an opportunity to get expert help working on one of your own trees.  Roy Nagatoshi will be here again to work individually with members on their tree while we watch and learn. 

Bonsai Notebook John Nielson will be with us for a demonstration at the April Meeting. He is a licensed arborist and has 30 years experience with bonsai. As an arborist, John is certified in pest management, irrigation systems and tree injection.

Bonsai Notebook Jim Barrett will be our presenter at the March 8th meeting.  Involved in bonsai for more than 50 years, Jim has participated in the growth and development of the bonsai art throughout Southern California and around the country.

Bonsai Notebook Our February meeting program will feature Al Nelson. Al provides a very entertaining and informative demonstration.  With the assistance of the helpers he brings, there will, no doubt, be many things going on at the same time.
