Bonsai Notebook The November meeting will feature a bring-your-own-tree workshop.  Lindsay Shiba will be our guest, and he will be helping each member take their tree to the next level of design and development.

  Bonsai Notebook Frank Yee will be our October 10 demonstrator.  He is a long-time club member and board member whose familiar face is known by all.  Frank started in bonsai forty-five years ago when he took a bonsai class at a community college.

Bonsai Notebook The September meeting will be held at the home of Steve and Judy Anthony in Covina.  Those who attended the meeting held there last year will remember the great valley views from the backyard deck and the comfortable setting of Steve and Judy’s yard and pool.

Bonsai Notebook Our August 8 meeting will feature Tuan “Tom” Vuong as our presenter.  This will be his first demonstration for our club.  Tuan is president of the Vietnamese Bonsai Society in Orange County.  In addition to his work with this club, he teaches bonsai classes.

Bonsai Notebook Our July 11 meeting will be at the home of Peter and Marissa Macasieb.  A concert at the Arboretum prevents us from meeting there.  The Macasiebs have graciously made their home available to us, so we can continue to meet.

Bonsai Notebook There will be no regular club meeting in June.  Instead, I ask that we all support the Descanso Bonsai Society by attending their annual show reception on June 13.  The reception will be held at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada Flintridge at 6:00pm.

Bonsai Notebook Bob Pressler returns as our demonstrator in May.  He is the owner of Kimura Bonsai Nursery in Los Angeles, a great nursery to visit and shop for bonsai.  He is a member of California Bonsai Society and Nampukai.

Bonsai Notebook Come to the April meeting and meet first time guest, Ryan Nichols.  Although Ryan is relatively new to bonsai, his background in horticulture and recent bonsai accomplishments will make for an entertaining evening.
